BIO (1/4/2019):  Hello, Lucy here!  I am a sweet, lovable and love attention!

I don't bark much but do when hearing a knocking noise (even sometimes on the TV, he-he).  As you can see, I am overweight but my foster mom is helping me work on it.  Easy to go on harder to come off.  I only have apples for treats and scrambled eggs on Sunday morning.

I get along with her two Dachshunds and a Golden.  Sometimes we snuggle together.  I burrow when I sleep, and sometimes snore, but not too loud.  Over the holidays the house was full of people ages 3 on up and I loved the attention.

I am pretty much potty trained and my foster parents keep all of us on a schedule.  I'd rather not be crated but sometimes I am.  I scratch at the door for couple minutes and then go to sleep, no barking.

The perfect family for me would make me a family member - not just a pet - and will love and take good care of me forever!  Thank you for taking an interest in me.  If you'd like, please go to allamericandachshundrescue.org and on the left side you will see the adoption application.

Have a wonderful day!

Lucy

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
