Hi my name is Leila I came from a puupy mill in tennesse. I was very neglected there and not given very much attention and when I came to my foster mom I was very thin with early pneumonia and a urinary tract infection. But, as you can see, with lots of tender loving care I am now a beautiful girl. I am very sweet and like to be a part of whatever it is that you are doing. I also love to be snuggled if you will let me. However I can be shy and it can take me a little while to warm up to new people so I would probably do better in a household without young children. I have gotten better with my potty training but it does still need a little work. I love to have other dogs to play with and get along well with anyone. I cannot say whether or not I get along with cats because I have never been around one before. Overall I am a very sweet and loving pup and just want a forever home with someone to love me uncondtionally and I will do so in return.
For more information please contact her foster mom at TraciBourgeois@yahoo.com Lyla is being fostered in the Greater New Orleans area.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about LEILA
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
