Rowdy is being given up by a breeder due to SARDS, he became blind in less than a month. That does not stop him from being a happy guy and blind dogs are really no different than sighted dogs as there other senses kick in and they learn the way around the house and yard. He is UTD on shots and neutered and on Interceptor. He will need to be kept on a schedule for housetraining but if you take him out every 2 hours and give him a treat when he potties we feel he'll catch on quickly as he is very friendly and willing to please. Please contsider giving this boy a wonderful home that he can be loved and give love. He does better with female dogs rather than male but we think once his neuter kicks in he'll be fine with them too.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about ROWDY....TN
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
