Baby3 is a wonderful little guy—friendly and sociable with everyone he meets. He is lively, active, and athletic. He can be a bit mischievous and can get into things (and out of things; we call him Houdini sometimes), but he is not destructive. Mostly he’s just as cute as can be. When he came to us he was very thin and malnourished, but he is working hard on gaining weight and health. He eats every last bite!
Baby walks well on a leash and is the first one in the car to go to the nature trail to walk. His next favorite thing is burrowing under the blankets and sleeping with his people. He is doing well with housebreaking, but is still a bit of a work in progress. He gets a big “good boy” when he does his thing outdoors. He does well on a schedule. He doesn’t mind being in his crate, but he has a lot of energy and wouldn’t be happy spending a lot of time in one. He’d be a great dog for people who have the time and energy to walk and play ball and tug the rope. If you like lots of hugs and kisses, Baby is the guy for you.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
