I am an ever so cute puppy. But most of the time I just love to sleep. I am a dog who loves to keep your lap warm, and sleep by your side at night. I love walks, and playing with other dogs. I get along great with kids, they all love me as much as I do them! I am potty trained, but I need to be kept on a schedule otherwise I might have a little accident. I love to look out the window and people watch, I don't bark much except when I play. I love to go bye bye, and I have found that everyone that meets me, instantly falls in love with me! Bandit was found as stray and no one claimed him. It amazes me that anyone wouldn't want this sweet puppy. He gets along with everyone, and every dog. Bandit loves to chase the ball, although he is slowly figuring out how to bring it back. He is one of the most friendliest dogs I have ever met. When anyone comes to the door he is waiting patiently with his tail wagging. He is an absolute cuddle bug, Even at the vet when he was getting shots he was wagging his tail. The only time I have seem him show is teeth is with food. It's not all the time, but one day when I gave all the dogs bones, he went and gathered them up when they weren't looking, and put them in a corner and sat on them. It was pretty funny, but once I went to go get them he started wagging his tail as if to tell me he was just joking. He is not food aggressive with people, and most of the time he is just a growler if another dog gets to close. He would do best in a home with kids, if they have other dogs that would be fine, if not that would be fine too. He is a happy go lucky dog, who just can't wait to find his forever home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Bandit....CA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
