Zena says:
Hello! Are you looking for someone who loves to cuddle, run free in a fenced yard and is ready to learn what life is all about? I spent my whole life in a tiny wooden stall with my mate having litter after litter of puppies for my owner to sell. That is all over now! I love cuddling and being close to gentle people. I am excited to be able to RUN on the ground instead of in a kennel run on a concrete slab. I am not always fond of male dogs, but do not mind other females. I like cats and children as long as they are respectful, but will run and hide if they scare me. My foster mom says I need something called self-confidence but I am curious about all the new things in my life and should learn that easily with help. Would you adopt me and help me learn how beautiful life can be?
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Zena
Is Not Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
