Please read carefully....Cindy was a part of a 30 dog hoarding situation in Alabama and she has never been an only dog. She has always had other dogs her age to play with and someone home all the time. You will need to have a fenced yard, someone home most of the time to help her with her housebreaking, and a young dog to play with. These are all very important and because she is so cute we are going to be very picky where she goes.
BIO (5/22/2018): Cindy is a beautiful long hair red Mini Dachshund who is all puppy. She has a sweet disposition and will shower you with many kisses. She is also the ultimate cuddle bug. She weighs all of 7 pounds. She is working on her house training and needs a strict schedule to keep her on track. She gets along well with all dogs so far her in her foster home. Cindy can be sassy at times but that is her personality. She is crate trained but would prefer not to be in it for long periods of time. She does sleep in it at night with minimal fuss. Cindy enjoys playtime outside and taking walks. She likes to chew (may still be teething) so keep the good footwear up. She has been fully vetted including a spay.
With all that being said, Cindy deserves a loving and understanding home who will show her love and patience as she grows. Her beginnings are pretty sketchy as she was living in a situation that required her and her fellow littermates to be removed. She will make a great member of the family!!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
