BIO (5/2/2018):  Loki, yes, that’s my name!  I was owner surrendered from a family in Tennessee and I’m being fostered in Michigan.  My Foster Mommy’s home is so nice: lots of other doxies to play with, a huge fenced back yard, a doggie door, and a doggie nanny when my mommy goes to work.  My foster mommy thinks I’m a little shy so she shows me special attention, and gives me lots of love and affection.

I love to play if someone else initiates it, but I am quiet unless spoken too.  I have no food aggression or submissive urination.  My Foster Mommy says I am 100% puppy.  I love to run and play all the time!

In the evening I enjoy snuggling on my Foster Mommy’s lap with my siblings under the blanket.  I sleep in a doggie bed with a blanket next to my foster mommy.  She already has 4 other doxies that take up most of the bed.

AADR wants the BEST for me - a home with no small children under ten works better for me.  I would do better in a home with another doxie playmate and a fenced yard.  I need a Forever Home that is willing to teach me and take the time to help me develop my “puppiness.”  I need a family who will protect and care for me.  If you are looking for your Best Friend - open up your heart and home - I will love you Forever!

More about Loki in MI

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Playful

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
