BIO (4/18/2018): Hello my name is Riley and I’m looking for my very own furever home! I love to ride in the car and take long walks so I can do all the smelling. Sometimes I pull with all the excitement (we are working on this). I definitely love to snuggle on the couch with everyone. I am house-trained and crate-trained. My foster mom said I’m doing great with the other dachshunds but don’t really care for the cats in the house.
When AADR got my dental done I did lose some teeth, but I am better now. I have been watching what I eat because I need to loss a couple of pounds, and I like carrots as my treats. My foster mom said I’m a good eater but need to get my exercise in a fenced yard to keep my weight off. I do like being outside and the doggie door is fun so I can come and go as I please.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Love, Riley
Please look at this sweet, little boy and consider Riley for your new addition... he will give you lots of doggie kisses and love!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
