BIO: Need a jogging partner or snuggle buddy??  Reese is your girl!  She was found starving and covered in fleas on a busy road and is so thankful to be rescued and can't wait to go to her forever home!  She is a beautiful brindle, the color of chocolate and peanut butter.

Don't let the premature graying on her nose fool you... she is still young and has the energy of a puppy and is an amazing athlete who loves to walk for miles, but also snoozes quietly if she is near you.  Reese is smart, friendly and mannerly with other dogs and cats.  She also loves to ride in a car, loves her crate, is house-trained well, and is learning the doggy door.  She is not an alpha dog at all and will share her bed and even her food.

Reese would love a household where someone is home most of the time and there are other dogs to help with her separation insecurities.  She tries hard to please and is clingy to her pack leader so she needs someone who can be strong and disciplined to build her confidence.

This beautiful, little girl will be a great playmate and friend for life!!!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
