BIO: Hi! Why am I still here? I've been available for adoption for a while now and no one has wanted me, I'm always getting over looked... WHY? I'm house trained, walk well on a leash, don't bark much at all, and get along with everyone. I'm even getting used to riding in a car which made me a little nervous at first. So I ask you WHY am I still here waiting for you? I need a home where you can either be home all day or gone to work and I'll be home waiting for you. I'd love a fenced yard but you can also walk me on a leash to potty and for us both to get our exercise.
I'm not needy... if you want me in your lap I'll be there or if you don't want me there, to I'll just go lay in my doggie bed by you and be happy with that.
Please, won't someone consider me? You won't be disappointed!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
