Clover was surrendered by a breeder who was forced to downsize due to the new laws in Pennsylvania. At 6 years old, her eyes reflect the sadness and wear of a lifetime of breeding. She is shy, but wants to be loved and gives wonderful kisses to show her gratitude.
Here are some words from Clover herself:
If you like to cuddle, want someone eager to learn and are looking for someone to love, look no further. My name is Clover and I am the girl for you. I spent my life up till now living in a tiny, wooden stall with a mate, having litter after litter of puppies. That life is over now, and I am eager to start my new life with a forever family! I never knew how wonderful living with people could be! Now I have my very own toy, can sleep under a blankie (what luxury!) and will ask politely for cuddle time. I am learning quickly that my “business” belongs outside, too. I like all other dogs, kitties and little people. My sad eyes can draw you in, but do not think for a minute that I am not happy with my new-found freedom.
If you’re looking for a sweet little red-head, please consider adopting me! I’ll love you furever! Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about CLOVER...NY
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
