Treasure is a great dachshund who is loving and sweet and would really love an owner that could spend time with her. She enjoys running and playing with the other foster dogs in the home. One of favorite things to do is to chew on her roast beef flavored Nylabone. Treasure enjoys to sun bath, take long naps and give lots and lots of kisses. She is great with other dogs but could not go to a home with children. This young lady deserves a loving home where she can grow old and be the Princess that she is. If you have room in your heart and home for this young lady please take time to fill out an application.
Treasure is really coming out of her shell. She's like a totally different dog then when she first came to my home. Treasure is running/playing and wrestling with my dogs/puppies at times and enjoys chewing on her roast beef flavored Nylabone. She still has her moments when she wants to be alone and just sun bathe and take a nap. Other then that she's improving each day and is enjoying all the attention she's getting. Treasure loves her people and follows them everywhere. She enjoys giving kisses (non-stop) and will give love nips every now and than. (But we are working on that) I believe that a home with no children would be best for her. (Due to the LOVE NIPS) She does great around other small dogs and has picked up on barking at strangers. This young lady deserves a loving home where she can grow old and be the Princess that she is. If you have room in your heart and home for this young lady please take time to fill out an application. I promise you she's a diamond in the rough

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
