BIO: Poor Lilly was dumped at a shelter in North Carolina when her family didn’t want her because she was old.  Then, because she was old, no one coming into the shelter wanted her either.  These folks are the losers because Lilly is super SWEET and doing so well in foster.

She did have a flea allergy so she has hair loss from that.  We have her on flea prevention and her fur is all coming back beautifully.  There is nothing bad we can say about this little girl!  She’s sweet and calm and just wants a soft bed and warm blanket to lay her head on.

Lilly gets along with male and female pups and we think she’d be just fine with cats because she’s pretty laid-back.  We think small children would not be good for her because she just wants some peace in her senior years and she deserves it!

A fenced yard is a must because she loves wandering around the yard, especially if you are there with her.

Don’t wait... this little one will be gone in the blink of an eye!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
