BIO:  Jackson came from a home in North Carolina and the family thought it was best to rehome the pups.  He came into rescue with Patton.  The two guys were not a bonded pair so we felt it was best if we help each find their individual home.  They have different personalities.

We did have to trim Jackson up because he had some mats in his coat from not being brushed weekly.  That will grow out and then his new owners will see just how beautiful he is!

He does appear to be housetrained at least to a doggie door and he loves to be outside.

Jackson does NOT like cats, so no cats.

Jackson loves a fenced yard in which to play and he will need another dog who's around his age to play with.  We do not think Jackson would do very well as an only dog.  He would do well as an only dog IF there is a stay-at-home person in his life.

If you are looking for a handsome, long-hair pup, then act now.  Jackson won’t be here long with his beauty and charm!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
