BIO: Major came from a very rural area of middle Alabama. He was turned into the shelter because he didn’t care for the young grandchildren.
Unfortunately, Major tested HW positive and has to stay in the rescue until the middle of March to finish his treatments but then can go off to his new home. We are listing Major now because we want everyone to see what a handsome boy he is and give him the chance to have a home by the time he finishes treatment. He deserves a great forever home.
Major is a SWEET, sweet boy who gets along well with male and female pups and will curl up in a doggie bed with whomever will let him have some space. He loves to play too, so a playful cat or dog would be great for him. Children have to be 8 and over and know how to treat an animal.
He MUST have a fenced yard because Major loves to be outside when it’s nice out. One of his favorite past times is chasing squirrels or just barking at them. He is in a foster home now that has a doggie door and is doing GREAT with pottying outside.
If you are looking for a young dog and are home a lot or work from home, Major would make a great companion. He does not have a problem with having to sleep in the living room away from the foster mom (because she doesn’t let fosters in her big bed) but she does have a baby gate up so he can’t get in the bedroom. However, he is happy sleeping in the office while foster mom is working.
