BIO:

Sadly, Diesel was dumped in a shelter in East TN because he bit the grandchild.  No one asked him what the child did to him but for that reason we are going to say “no kids.”

What we do know about Diesel is that he is devoted to his people.  He will sit at your feet, follow you in and out, and want to be in your lap.  He lives for YOU.

We know Diesel can be an only dog because when you are there he pays no attention to the other dogs and has no desire to play with them either.  We think he did a lot of lap time with his old owner.

We think he would benefit from a fenced yard so we are going to request that his potential adopter has one.

Oh, Diesel is a standard and standards (usually) are more laid back than the smaller doxies.

Of course, we can’t guarantee that any dachshund is 100% housebroken but he’s pretty darn close.

Diesel may be curious about a cat but if the cat is doxie savvy, then he knows what the claws feel like and will steer clear of those things.

This boy stole his temp foster mom’s heart so if you need more info you can also email aadrpresident@gmail.com and she’ll be happy to talk to you about Diesel.

Snap this boy up before he’s not available any longer.  You won’t get any more perfect that this!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
