BIO:  Fanny has had a rough time recently, but she is on the road to recovery and a good life.  Found wandering around Nashville, TN, she was brought to Metro Animal Control where she was discovered to be heartworm positive in addition to being under-weight.  It was then that Fanny’s life was to change.  She was pulled by another rescue for AADR.

Fanny is quiet and loving and would do well in a home with older folks who are home most of the time.  She can be either an only dog or with another dog or two.

It is not necessary to have a fenced in area.  She is happy to go out for a nice leash walk and then come in to snuggle in soft fleecy blankets.  Fanny has never shown any aggression at all and gets along with my two doxies, both boys.  I think she would get along with another female also.  No big dogs!  Not sure how she would react to cats.

Fanny has a lot of love that she wants to share with someone special!  For all this little girl has been through, she is very trusting.  Please consider making her your snuggle buddy!

More about Fanny... TN

Good with Some Dogs (No large dogs), Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Leashtrained, Cratetrained

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
