BIO:  *** MUST have a fenced yard and another YOUNG dog for Luna to play with!***

Hi, my name is Luna!  I’m a chiweenie mix.  What does that mean, you may ask?  Well, it means that I got the best parts of a chihuahua and a dachshund.  I have the softest fur.  Foster mom says it feels like velvet.  I have big, dark eyes and foster mom calls me her ‘baby seal’.  Well, I don’t know about all that but I do know I’m absolutely adorable and very sweet.  I love to snuggle with my foster mom and dad.  I give the sweetest kisses too.  But my favorite thing to do is play all day with my foster brother, Tobias.  He’s a little bigger than me but I can hang in there with him, running and jumping and rolling around on the floor together.  We play chase outside and you should see how fast I can run!  Tobias could never catch me unless I let him, which I do sometimes, he’s very sensitive.  After we wear ourselves out playing, we love to snuggle up together and take naps.  It’s good to have a best friend.

I’m pretty good at going potty outside but thankfully foster mom puts puppy pads down for me just in case I can’t hold it.  She gives me lots of fun toys to play with and chew on so I don't ever try to chew her things.

Foster mom says I’m the sweetest little thing in the world and would make a great addition to someone’s family, preferably a family with another little fur baby for me to play with.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
