Well, not to sound conceited, but aren’t I GORGEOUS?!? I’m a blue and tan doxie. That’s right, I said BLUE and TAN! For sure, that’s not an everyday doxie color... and it probably explains why my name is Bonnie Blue! Haha...
I’m a SWEET, sweet little girl and oh so friendly! My tail is always wagging! I get along with all the doxies in my foster home, male and female, makes no difference to me. I have a real easy-going personality that you’ll just fall head over heels for too! I do bark a little, but not too much and will stop if you tell me “no” or give me a quick squirt from the “dreaded” water bottle.
I am a little on the chunky side so my foster mom has me on Rx diet food to get my body bikini ready. I have VERY short legs and a large chest so my rib cage almost drags on the ground. I should never be allowed to do stairs or jump on and off of furniture, unless you want to risk me needing future back surgery. Did you know back surgery for a dachshund runs $5000-$8000? Since most homes in FL are one story, I am hoping my forever family lives in FL. BTW, I recently made a 15 hour transport to FL and I am in no rush to make another long transport. I know there are lots of wonderful folks in FL who will want to love me forever!
Bonnie Blue came into rescue when a family member passed and the other family members needed to move. AADR has been told that Bonnie Blue is a digger, so a very secure fence will be quite important. Due to Bonnie’s dilute color, her coat is quite thin. She needs to remain in the South since she will be way too cold up North. Also, she should not be outside for long periods of time without wearing a T-shirt or sunscreen. We don’t want her delicate skin sunburned.
