Ruff! My name is Kolby. I am a little guy with a super sweet personality! I have done great with other Dogs, but my foster Mom has never had me around a cat. I LOVE kids, but the youngest I have been Around is about 8. I love to jump like Tigger so I might scare a younger child. I have no aggression at all. You could put your hand in my food bowl & I wouldn’t care. I love to cuddle and sleep with you at night. Since I was most likely a puppy mill dog, I am a little insecure & afraid that my Mommy or Daddy May not come back home & let me out of the crate. Yeah, I don’t like being left alone. My foster Mom calls it “Separation Anxiety”. With a training & security, I should be able to get over this. Just Know that I am going to need someone that is willing to work with me. I am working on my house- Training too! My foster Mom says I am almost there! I just need consistency! So, If you would Like to give a little boy with LOTS of energy, and loads of cuddling a forever home, consider adopting Me! Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
