BIO:  FENCED YARD REQUIRED

Diamond is a sweet, loving girl who would make a wonderful addition to your family!  We don’t know much about her past because she was found abandoned on the street in Lewisburg, Tennessee.  Some kind people fed her for two days and then made sure she was rescued.  We suspect she was someone’s pet, because she appears to be potty trained and is very well-mannered.

Diamond gets along great with dogs her own size and is working on becoming friends with bigger dogs—they are a little scary!  A home with other small dogs would be ideal. She would also do great in a home without any other pets. Diamond loves to play with her foster parents and furry foster brothers and sisters, but she is also perfectly fine spending quiet time by herself. She really enjoys a relaxed atmosphere where she can lounge around and cuddle.

This little girl is sweet as can be, and very laid back. Please consider becoming her forever home!

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Affectionate

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
