BIO:

Renly is a playful male Dachshund and Chihuahua mix, or “Chiweenie”, puppy!  The long body, short fat feet, longer snout, and markings are spot on.  Puppy means loads of energy, mischief, and house training.  The kids will be able to grow up with a sweet puppy and hopefully help with the responsibilities of pup training.  Renly will have the appropriate shots and worming for his 10 weeks of age and will be vetted at our doctor's office until neutering is done.

Renly is black with tan and has some dapple looking areas.  So, how cute are those floppy ears?!?  He will need a fenced backyard to keep him from wandering off and getting lost or hurt because he is so active.

Renly has a adoption fee of $250 and is ready for puppy snuggles!

A home visit will be done and there will be a $45.00 health certificate fee added to the adoption fee for out of state adoptions.  Transport help will be available but the adopter will have to be willing to drive 50-75 miles one way to get Renly to his approved home.  No applications accepted from anyone under 25 years old or in the states of MA, CT, RI or NH.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
