Hi my name is Alan but everybody calls me Al! Aren’t I a HANDSOME BOY!?!

I was dropped off in the backyard of someone’s home. They couldn’t keep me so I was taken to a vet office where they contacted AADR and I was picked up and went into foster. I have finished my heartworm treatment, I'm all better, and ready for my very own Furever Home!

From my foster mom: Al loves everyone, and gets along with the other dogs and cats in the foster home. He is very smart and loves to run the yard to see what he can find. Al is house trained to a doggie door, crate trained, plays great with his toys and loves to ride in the car.

Look at this sweet guy... please consider Alan for your new addition and he will give you lots of doggie kisses and love!

More about Alan in FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
