BIO: Hi, my name is Bo and I am Mr. Personality! I wake up silly and I’m happy all day! I love everyone. If you’re looking for a family dog who can run and play with the best of them and give as much lap time as you want, I’m your guy! I love my foster sister but I am very confident and would do just fine as an only dog. I get a bit jealous of my foster brother when he gets too close to “mom.” I really like my foster sister – she was very shy at first and I liked helping her. I showed her the ropes when she first came and let her know our foster “mom” was a nice lady and trustworthy. We like to snuggle together on the couch, too.
One of my favorite things is to race around the yard when I first wake up and again after my naps! I love to leap and bound through the tall wildflowers in the back part of the yard! I can disappear and hide from her when I want to because they are really tall.
I know all the standard commands - sit, down, roll over, walk nice (or heel) and come. I don’t bark very much but if I do, I quiet right down when I’m told. I even go potty on command. If my foster mom says go pee pee, I go. When she tells me to make a poo, I do that too.
Bo’s foster mom is retired and home most of the time. Bo goes outside frequently and has no accidents if left alone for several hours. If he needs to go out, he gives a signal.
Bo came from Athens, AL from a lady that had too many dogs. He drew the short straw and came to our rescue and then went to his foster home. He had lots of love and training in his first home and he’s ready to love another family. He has lots of love to give!
He gets along with other female dogs just fine and is great with the kitty-cat too. The only thing he asks for is a fenced in yard. Do you have one? If you do, please email my foster mom and put in an online adoption application for me.
I’ll give you years of devotion and I could even be younger than 6, so remember I’m going to live to be another 10 or more years. That’s a long time - I’m game, are you! I love my foster mom, and she loves me, so if you have any other questions, just email her and she’ll be happy to tell you know more about me.
Please check-out my videos. I am a STAR!!! Make sure to turn up the sound. :)===============
=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
