BIO:

Hi, my name is Lola!  AADR rescued me and my babies after we were found outside in 14-degree weather.  I am so happy to be safe and warm in my foster home!  I am a standard dachshund mix so I am a big girl.  Right now, I weigh around 19 pounds and I'm looking good!!  The folks at the rescue believe I may be a dachshund and beagle mix.  Does it get any better than that?  Well…NO!

Foster mom tells me that I am one of the sweetest girls she has ever had.  I love to snuggle!  Being on foster mom or dad's lap is my favorite spot in the house. I am crate trained and I like to sleep in my doggie bed in foster mom and dad's bedroom at night. And foster mom says I am doing great on house-training too....no accidents!!!

In my foster home, I have an older furry foster sister and brother.  We all run and play in the back yard.  It's lots of fun!  Foster mom told me about other furry babies called cats.  I haven't seen one since I got here, but foster mom says I'll get to meet one soon...hope they like to play too!  I also like to go for walks and take rides in the car.  Foster mom believes I will fit in well with a family that has other furry kids and older human kids.  I haven't met anyone I didn't like!

If you think that I might be the perfect dog for your family, please complete an application.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email my foster mom.  She will tell you all of the wonderful things that you need to know about me!

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
