BIO:  Bella has been here at her Vermont foster home for 3 full days.  She comes to us as owner surrender from Kentucky and is looking to find that wonderful family that will treat her like the queen she is.  Bella is extremely shy!  For these first three days she has been here, she has spent much of her time to herself curled up on the couch.  She has made small improvements and I think that as time goes by, she will open up more and more.  She needs some quality socialization done to help her reach her full potential.

Bella is the sweetest little girl!  When we aren’t in the room, she will play really well with her foster brothers and sister.  No toy or food aggressions.   She sleeps quietly all night in her crate (but I’m sure she’d love to cuddle in the Big Bed too).   She must have a house with a fenced in yard to run around in, no apartment or condo.  She is house trained as well as doggie door trained, so when she has to go, she just lets herself out and goes.  She does not seem to mind wet weather (although it has been in the form of snow here).

Bella will make a wonderful addition to your family and I promise,  if you’re looking for a dog that loves to snuggle, kiss, and be the center of your world…you have just found her!   Bio updates will be made as Bella continues to blossom from her shyness.

If you are interested in Bella and would like more information, please contact her foster parents at judehoust@aol.com.

More about Bella #16.....NY

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Requires a yard

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
