BIO:

Hi, my name is Maggie and I am looking for my new furever home with someone who would like to be a couch potato with me.  My Daddy got sick and could no longer care for me, so he decided to trust a rescue to help find me the best new home ever. While I love being a couch potato, on nice days I also love to run around the fenced in back yard and check things out!  Since it has gotten colder I really just want to stay inside close to my new Mommy and/or Daddy.  I love food and treats too!  But what dachshund doesn’t, right?  When I came to my foster home I had to have a refresher course on potty habits.  I caught on pretty quickly if I do say so myself!  I also will use potty pads if you forget to let me out every couple of hours.

My Foster Mommy says I am the sweetest little girl ever!  I do not really care about toys and I get along well with other dogs and cats too!  I am a happy girl and my tail wags a lot, especially at meal time!  When I came to the rescue I was a little overweight, but now I am almost where I should be!  I would love to be able to sleep in the big bed in my new home, but will sleep in a doggy bed if I must.

If I sound like a doggy you would like to cuddle with and kiss on, please visit http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org and feel free to contact Foster Mom at kleerly@gmail.com

More about Maggie #6.....MS

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
