BIO:  Must have a fenced yard

Hi, my name is Whitney and I’m the shyest of all my siblings, Zach, Zeke, and Tulip.  But believe me, I won’t let them push me around.  At the very first I’m shy but never fear, that doesn’t last long and then I can hang with the best of them.  I am a “designer” pup, a mixture of Dachshund and Maltese so I'm a Mauxie, and as you can see, I am super cute!  I’m looking for a home where someone will be home with me most of the time and you will have another young dog or cat for me to play with when you are busy and can’t hold me.  In case you haven’t guessed, I am a bit of a lover, so adopt me please!

From Whitney’s foster mom:  This little girl is the smallest of the siblings but she does love to play and can run so fast you won’t catch her.  As a matter of fact, she loves that game of catch me if you can.  Whitney loves to try to play with the cat too. We are looking for a home that has a fenced yard, a mom or dad who is home or works from home to help her with housebreaking, and is willing to keep her socialized so she loves everyone.  Are you that family?

If you have questions or want more info, contact Whitney's foster mom, Diane, at aadrpresident@gmail.com.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
