If you are looking for a wonderful full-size doxie, Candy is your girl!
This sweet lady is a Standard Dachshund who is working on transitioning from being a full-time outside dog.
She’s enjoying more and more time inside, and loving it!
Candy is very affectionate and likes to be near her people.
She also loves to play with toys, and snuggle up near you once she’s tuckered out.
She’d do best in a fenced yard so that she can still enjoy her outdoor time, this is one outdoor-friendly lady!
Candy would make a great companion for someone who enjoys hiking or walking.
Candy is remarkably well behaved: she hasn’t had a single potty accident inside, and she even does well with cats!
Candy does show some alpha behavior (food and toy possessive), so we think she’d be happier as an only dog.
Don’t worry, she’s got plenty of love to go around!
She could be acclimated into a home with other dogs with proper supervision and training, but would not be a good fit for a home with another alpha.
If you want more information or have any questions regarding this affectionate, but semi-independent doxie, contact her foster mom, Kait (kait.cassell@gmail.com)!
Candy would make a wonderful addition to a home that is patient with her and willing to train her around other dogs if needed.
