BIO :  Well, am I not the cutest gosh darn doxie ever?!?  YUP ... my foster mom says I’m cuter then cute!  I am a very tiny guy who LOVES to give kisses.  I am doing VERY well at learning to potty outside and to walk on a leash with my foster brother and sisters.  I LOVE everyone I meet.   Once you meet me, I promise you’ll want to adopt me forever!!!

Here’s my backstory:  I came from a breeder in Summertown, TN.  She reached out for help when she got sick from Lyme disease and had no one to help her with her 40 dogs.  A vet tech with another vet clinic helped her spay/neuter some of her dogs and then took them into rescue.  She still has about 14 dachshunds left and the vet tech is not sure she'll give them up. She is still working on her but she has to tread softly.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
