BIO:  Ralph needs a fenced yard and an active buddy to play with!

Hello everyone, my name is Ralph!  I currently live in a wonderful foster home in Vermont, but I am looking very forward to finding a Fur-Ever Home to call my own.  I was found in Georgia when I jumped into a nice lady’s car.  They looked around to see if I had an owner, but since I didn’t have any identification tags, they were unable to find anyone.  They wanted to keep me, but they didn’t have a fenced in yard and felt that I would be better off if turned over to All American Dachshund Rescue to find me the perfect home.

I am an extremely playful puppy that is full of so much energy.  I enjoy having a fully fenced in yard that I can run and run in to burn off all my energy (and you’ll appreciate it as well as it helps me sleep better at night).

My foster dad says that I am a Dachshund mix.  I’m not sure what that means, but he says I have Miniature Pinscher in me and that’s why my legs are longer.  Either way, he says I am very adorable.  My ideal new home would have other dogs that like to play with me.  I get along with most dogs, as long as they remember I might be smaller than them.   I do very well in my crate and quickly settle in and sleep all night without making a peep.  If you want me to, I will sleep very well on the big bed with you all curled up next to you.  I go on walks really well on a leash. When it’s feeding time, I am really good, and tend to stand on my back legs and dance.  I really like other people and meet everyone with tail wagging.  I don’t bark often, but when I do, I have a very loud voice.  If you live in an apartment, I have to warn you that I might be too loud and get you in trouble.

If you have any other specific questions about me, please contact my foster parents and they will be happy to talk to you about me.  If you’re looking for a great addition to your family, please consider ME.  I promise to put a smile on your face every day!

More about Ralph.....PA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
