BIO:    Hi! My name is Eva. I’m the other black and tan baby, and I do have some white on my chest and little toes, but that’s all. I think I am so much cuter than my sisters, Zoey and Greta!!  I sure am cute! We were surrendered to a shelter in Hartsville, AL by our owner, who didn’t want us any longer. Mom was sad but we didn’t know why because she was with us, so we didn’t care. We love to play with toys and each other and yep, we even argue sometimes.

We are pretty smart... we already use the puppy pads that the rescue puts down for us and we all like to sleep in a puppy pile, so if I would love take one of my sisters with me! Or maybe you can have at least have another small doggie I can sleep with and play with?  I would really appreciate it, and I wouldn’t keep you up at night crying in my crate 'cause I’m lonely.

Me and my sisters are pretty outgoing so the people that had us used to pay attention to us.  We just can’t figure out why they wanted us all gone.  Oh well, I know you’ll think I’m cute and want to adopt me! Could you please have a fenced in yard too so I can run and play, and also someone to let me out every two hours so I don’t have accidents in your house because I can’t hold it any longer than that, I’m too little.

Oh, the rescue thinks mom is either a “poorly bred dachshund” or a “chiweenie”, whatever those two mean, and dad, well he skipped town and mom’s not talking, but she does get a dreamy look in her eyes when we ask her about him.

Well, I’m waiting by this e-mail for you to say you want to adopt me, so hurry... I’m waiting!!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
