Deuce has THE BEST personality! He enjoys taking walks and running around the yard, as well as sleeping on the couch by your side. He gets along well with other dogs. He is friendly and easy going. A great companion dog!!! He walks well on a leash. He is a very sweet and gentle boy. He is a big baby and LOVES to be held. He is VERY friendly with everyone he meets. He rarely stops wagging his tail.

Deuce is crate trained and is not much of a barker. He has done well with housebreaking. We have him on a tight schedule. He is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and room to run! He would do best in an adult only home or in a home with older children. Small children make him anxious. He will be a dedicated member to his new family. Everyone that has met him thinks he is so handsome and doesn't understand why a dog like Deuce would end up as a stray.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about DEUCE...ME

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
