Update - Kipper is doing great but looking for his Furever Family.  Kipper is good will all the dogs in foster home and even the cats.   Kipper is such a laid back little guy he would make a great addition to any home.  Kipper is crate trained, leash trained, and kept on a schedule house trained, loves to ride and just the around great dachsund.  Please call foster mom if you have any questions

Hello! My name is Kipper and I have found myself looking for a furever home. I know I have plenty of love to give a family that will just kept me for the rest of my life! I came into All American Dachshund Rescue and needed a dental, and I lost 23 teeth. Because I love to eat, my dry food needs to be moistened and then I will finish it off. I am being told by my foster mom I have fit into her home with the other animals very well.  I get along with the cats and dogs, I love to walk on leash, I am crate trained, and if kept on a schedule, I'm house trained too. Oh, and I love to ride in the car.  So if your looking to adopt, please consider me! 

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
