BIO UPDATE 7/11/16: Sasha has made her way to sunny Florida to be with her new foster family. Despite being away from her brothers and sisters she is doing great! She slept all night in a crate with no whining, eating great and playing with her new big foster siblings-3 grown dachshunds. They of course try to get away from her as well as her little teeth sharp they say. Sasha has met our neighbor cat and they got along with no problems. Thus she will do fine in a home with a cat. She is doing well with potty training and learning her name. As you can see in one of the pictures her tail is bobbed which adds to her adorable personality! Also, we think she is going to be a smart girl from what we have observed thus far. So for a beauty who has one white nail and 9 black nails this is a unique little girl who will be a great addition to a loving home. If you have questions please feel free to contact foster family at chlongo@knology.net.

BIO: Hi, my name is, wait I don’t have a name yet, the rescue is working on one! I and my other brothers and sisters and mom came from a shelter in central Alabama where we were turned in by our owner. No info was given by the shelter or the owner so that’s all the rescue knows.

I can tell you that I love to play with my brothers and sisters and can hold my own with all of them. I’m not shy and love attention. I eat like a little pig but I’m growing and am healthy! I’d sure like to have a home of my own and maybe a couple kids to play with or another dog, would you consider me? The foster says they don’t think I’ll get over 25 pounds, if that. I’m one of the smaller ones of my mom’s litter but mom herself is 22 pounds.

Hope to hear from you soon!!

More about Sasha.....MO

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
