BIO:  Hi! I don’t have a name yet but it’s coming real soon! If you need to know more about me, just email my my foster mom and include my number, 8112. I came from a shelter in central Alabama along with my mom and 8 siblings. We were dumped there. The shelter knew we had to get out so they contacted rescue right away and here we are. We are happy and love to play! We’ve had one set of shots and will get another set before going to our forever home. I have a short tail like my mom but everyone says it’s “cute”. I’m all puppy and can untie your shoe laces in under 30 seconds!

I need to have a family that will be home a lot to teach me to potty outside and no apartments either... I want a fenced in yard. If you are looking for a puppy that we think will be under 30 pounds, then look no further. Mom is a black and tan and will be right around 25. We are not sure who dad was and mom’s not saying, but she’s SWEET. 

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
