BIO: Stella is our little shadow and is just the sweetest dog! She comes from Texas as an owner surrender, and we can't imagine anyone giving her up.  She has not had any accidents so far and uses both puppy pads and the yard, but like with any doxie, may need some extra time and work with potty training. She is not food or bone aggressive. She hardly ever barks and does not have any separation anxiety that we have seen. Stella would do better in a home with another dog, no cats, and older children. She loves to play and go on long walks and does great on the leash. If she wasn’t so frosty faced we would never guess she is an older dog. Stella is ready to find her forever home! Please email foster mom, Faren, at feg1282@gmail.com  if you want more info on this sweet, loving girl.

More about Stella.....NY

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
