BIO:

Please say hello to Watson!! He is an adorable 7 week old that was born while in rescue. Watson is the gentle giant in his litter. Although he is the biggest, he is the one that sits on the sidelines and watches all of the action going on. When his brothers and sisters are outside of the kennel playing, Watson is trying to get back in to take a nap. When he does play, he plays really well with the other puppies. He would much rather curl up in your arms, watch the action from afar and fall asleep. Watson needs a home that is quiet and calm to match his personality. He will do well with an older or calm furry sibling. He is such a sweet and gentle boy!

Due to their age, we cannot transport the puppies. If your application is approved, you will have to come to Clarksville, TN to pick your puppy up. This is not negotiable.

If you have any questions about Watson, please feel free to contact his foster mom.

=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Watson.....TN

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
