Fostered in Florida

Champ is a wonderful little puppy! Walks great on a leash too. He is happy and smart and loves to play! He is potty trained and crate trained. He is only 7 months old. He gets along with other dogs, male or female. He is very passive with other dogs. We don't know about cats but since he is so young, he should take to them real fast. Champ was pulled from the local shelter. He loves to walk on the leash. Being only 7 months old he still has to be told what he can and can't do and chew on. He loves shoes, and will take them right out of your closet and take the insoles out to chew, so we are working on that . He should be crated when you are not around to supervise because he is a puppy. He likes to eat and chew on rawhides. He will sleep on your chair or in your lap as you watch television or read. He also does not mind sleeping on the floor next to your chair or on the carpet. He loves all of the special attention he gets from his foster mom and dad and is very affectionate.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about CHAMP...FL

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
