BIO:
Hi, I'm Dash! I am from an owner surrender here in Michigan. When I was a puppy, I was adopted by a young teenage couple. They were unable to provide the needed vetting care and vaccines. They surrendered me to an elderly lady in her 80’s. Although she got me all my vaccines and had me neutered, she physically was unable to care for me. She surrendered me to a family with a young girl when I was one year old, still just a puppy. They provided a loving home for me. I had everything I needed and wanted, but somewhere along the way, I developed a “food” aggression when around kids. Most kids are very loud and boisterous and they make me very nervous, especially around food. I was surrendered to AADR because of this, and with a heavy heart from my beloved family.
I have been with my new Foster Mom for just a little while and am adjusting to my new environment. I get along with my foster brother and sisters and like to play. I’m not food aggressive around them because everyone eats out of their own bowl and gets the same amount. I have no fear aggression, submissive urination, or separation anxiety. I am overweight and need to lose about 4-5 pounds. I am on a Hills Science Metabolic diet and I don’t feel hungry at all. I like it here, everyone treats me nice, but there is no place like home.
I am housebroken, bark some when I get nervous or bored, and get along with adults and other animals. I love playing with my foster brother and sisters! I like to chase and bark at squirrels, cuddle on laps, and sleep in my own doggie bed at the foot of the Big Bed. This is fun but I really, really want my very own last “Forever Home”. I love people and am gentle. I want/need a family without little small children and someone committed and able to provide me with a safe and loving home.
I love to get my Foster Mom's attention by jumping on her lap and giving her kisses! I need a little help and work with my food aggression (BIG people don’t make me feel nervous like little people do when I’m around food). My wish list would be: another doxie to play with and a fenced in backyard (would be a plus).
