BIO:

Hi!!! My name is Chuckie. I am an adorable 6 week old chocolate dapple baby. I came to AADR with my mom and 3 brothers when our home dynamic changed and they couldn’t keep us anymore. Anyway, I am the cool and calm one of the bunch! I like to play with my brothers but I also really like my nap time. When I am done playing, I will go to my pen and whine to let my foster mommy know that I am ready for a nap. Even though I am small right now, I will probably end up being a small standard size dachshund like my beautiful mommy is. I have 7 bigger furry foster brothers and sisters and I am not intimidated by them one bit! In fact, I really like to play with them (when I’m in the mood, of course). I also have a 10 year old human foster brother and I adore him! Kids in the home would be ok for me as long as they understand my boundaries and understand how to treat me nicely. I love to give kisses and am constantly wagging my tail. I just love life!! I am too young to be put on a transport so my new family will have to come to Clarksville, TN to pick me up. This is not negotiable. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact my foster mom. She would be happy to tell you just how awesome I am!

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

More about Chucky....TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
