BIO: Hi my name is Sadie! I came from MO when my owner died and the rest of the family didn’t want me so they sent me to the shelter. I was not a happy girl there so the shelter reached out to AADR. When I got to TN I was pretty scared, my world had been turned upside down and I wanted my momma but she was nowhere to be found.

When I got here they spayed me and did a dental and removed some mammary tumors that were not malignant so I’m healthy and ready to find my new home.

This time I want someone that won’t leave me or a family that won’t throw me away.

I really want to be the only dog in the house but I will tolerate another male dog. I love lap time and want to be in yours but if not, at least I’ll be near you if you’ll put a doggie bed down for me to lay in.

I’m house trained and not a barker but I would love to have a fenced in yard, can you manage that for me? I want this to be my last home and so does AADR!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
