BIO:  Little Eden came in with 2 other little girls from a breeder in NC when she wanted to retire her.

She was well cared for but not really well socialized. She wants to be loved on when you are sitting but just not sure about you bending over and towering over her. In time she’ll understand that no one means her any harm, after all she’s not even 8 pounds and we can seem pretty big to a little girl like her.

Please no small children... no matter how much your child has been around dogs, this little girl has not so only children OVER 12 will be considered.

We are looking for a family that will be very patient with her and another dog to show her what being a pet is all about. Also a fenced in yard because she’s not leash trained and it would freak her out.

With breeder dogs the most you can do for them is show them kindness, patience and time. Do you have all three of these to make Little Eden happy for the rest of her life?

Oh by the way, she had no dental care so she lost most of her teeth and will need either softened food or very, very small bites dog food.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
