BIO: Hi my name is Zorro and I'm very sad because no one wants me, if you'll just adopt me I'll brand my Z into your heart and love you forever!!

Hi, my name is Zorro! I’m just a quiet kinda guy that when adopted will need to be socialized with people, dogs, and kids so that I can have a well-rounded personality. They told me to say that! You see, I’m on the shy side so they think that it’s best if someone really works with me so I don’t end up being fearful of new things.

My mom is a pure bred dachshund but daddy, well he was a rambling man and didn’t stick around to help mom with us kids so she had to give herself up to rescue. One week after she was in rescue she had us, 6 girls and 2 boys. I’m the biggest so I might be 25 pounds or so when I grow up. They think I’m a dachshund/beagle mix... ain’t I cute?! Please, can I come live with you? I promise I’ll be good!

They said you have to be willing to drive all the way to get me or at least to within one hour of Lewisburg TN. My foster mom’s back isn’t very good for long trips and they won’t put any of us on a volunteer transport for health reasons.

Oh PS - Don’t let my picture fool you... my legs are not as long as they look in that one picture!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
