Rebel is from Alabama and was given up through no fault of his own.  In fact, you could not ask for a much better doggy!  This boy has it all, Good Looks and Personality!  He does need to lose another pound or two, but is now otherwise fit as a fiddle.  He does well with children but we are not sure about toddlers.  Rebel also does OK with Dog Savvy Cats, but he still is fascinated by them and loves to bark and sneak in a sniff here and there. He gets along very well with his Foster Brothers and Sisters and can be playful or a couch potato.  If you let him sleep with you, he will snuggle down and sleep all night long.  Rebel also does well with going out to potty on a schedule.  One of his favorite things to do is to explore the back yard and enjoy the outdoors. When you take him bye bye he will lay happily on the passenger seat on a blanket and pop up occasionally to see where you are.   I have not had him on a leash much yet, but he seems to do fine with it. Rebel would be happiest in a home that does not require him to be crated, but he will tolerate it if it is necessary.  It is impossible not to fall instantly in love with this boy! Email Foster Mommy at Decollinss@aol.com or visit our website at www.allamericandachshundrescue.org.

More about Rebel....IL

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
