UPDATE 11/18/2015

Bella is a loving ball of energy, full of fun all the time.  She loves to play with other dogs.  Her hobbies are eating, playing, going  for walks on her leash with her “people” and snuggling.  She gives kisses freely and as often as possible.

Typically, Bella is very shy at first greeting.  She is extremely cautious of strangers and she will greet people when she is ready, on her terms.  Sweet talking with treats and patience is the way to her heart and, once she warms  up and trusts her “people”, she is 100 percent devoted to them.

Bella is looking forward to a wonderful life with someone who will love and care for her as much as she loves them.  Are you that someone?

BIO:

Bella came from AR where a person said that she came to them as a stray. After looking for her owner and no one coming forward, she contacted rescue to take her.  Surprisingly, no one claimed this sweet dog.  Though a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and becomes very loving.  She is a lively, happy dog whose tail wags constantly, and she is especially fond of a lap.  Upon her arrival in our home, Bella immediately made friends with our dogs, both large and small.

While it took her a few days to understand where to go, within a week she was pottying only when we took her outside and the accidents ceased.

Bella deserves to have a wonderful family who will love and care for her forever.  Are you willing to give her that?

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
