RC is a beautiful and well behaved little double dapple. He was born blind but that doesn’t stop him one bit. He wrestles with all the other pups here in his foster home and there are 6 others here. He doesn’t bump into anything and doesn’t even mess in the house. His new home would need to be without stairs however as he wouldn’t know where the drop off was but he does seem to sense where walls, chairs and living beings are. He ALWAYS finds his people and will find you for kisses. He loves to snuggle in your arms and fall asleep. You will not find a more loyal companion than this little man.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. When we arrange for ground transport, the adopter will also need to arrange for $25 additional fee for the Health Certification made out to AADR. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about RC(RAY CHARLES)..VA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
