Update, 7-22-15:
Hi my name is Barney. I have now settled into my Foster home and have a few minutes to update you on me! Like it was said before, I am a GREAT dog….when you’re right, you’re right! I love being around people, but if you are gone, I take that opportunity for naps. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have my belly rubbed. I will gently place my paw on you to you let you know if the rub wasn’t long enough and keep going. I enjoy going for walks and being outside in my yard. My Foster parents bought me some tennis balls to play with, which I chase, but go hide them in the house so they can’t find them…it’s my game I play with them. I am a friendly guy, but prefer not to be around a male dog that is aggressive. I get along with other dogs and children as long as they are not ear or tail tuggers. I like my Foster parents, and they treat me like a king, but I would really really like to find my forever home. Please consider adopting me, and I promise I will bring you years of fun, laughs, and a lot of love.
____________
Barney could be younger than 5-6 we just aren't sure our guess is about 4 yrs old
Barney came from a shelter in West Tennessee when his owners brought him in and said he was a stray. So we don’t really know why he was surrendered. Barney is a great dog! He goes in his crate when it’s time to eat and goes in his crate when we leave (along with a chewy to keep him busy). With that being said, we aren’t gone for more than four hours at a time. We think he’d be best with someone that’s home quite a bit or is able to take him to work with them. He must have a fenced-in yard and would do fine with another female dog, but he’s not really fond of male dogs. Best would be with another female or as an only dog.
Barney is smart, happy and loves the fenced-in yard so that is a must for him. He does have some scaring on his head like possibly a would from going under a fence? A dog fight? We are not sure, but it’s old and healed.
We think Barney would be fine with kids older than 12 years and he’s fine with cats. Please help Barney find his last forever home and be his best buddy!!
