UPDATE, 6/9/15:
GREAT news ... drum roll, please! We have solved the mystery of Sissy’s excessive drinking and urination .... she has diabetes insipidus. Don’t panic ... this is NOT “sugar” diabetes that requires daily shots. Rather this is “water” diabetes which is completely different then diabetes mellitus. Foster mom puts one hormone eye-drop in each eye every morning and bingo ... no excessive drinking and no accidents! One 10 ml bottle is good for 200 drops ... that’s 100 days (a 3 month supply) for $70 plus shipping. Sissy’s lucky adopter will be sent a 6 month supply of drops, too.
Sissy’s two favorite activities are still hunting for lizards in the backyard AND sitting in your lap (or sleeping right next to you). She is doing much better at meeting strangers, too. She’s figured out that people are GOOD!
Don’t forget AADR has a wonderful volunteer transport system. Sissy can be transported to within one leg of her forever home. Her adopter will need to drive the last leg (usually just 60-75 miles). Contact Sissy’s foster mom if you have any questions about this cutie!

Meet Sissy ... a bundle of energy in a small light-weight package! Don’t let her age or white muzzle and paws fool you. Sissy loves to run, jump, and chase EVERYTHING! She will happily spend hours protecting your fenced backyard from birds, squirrels, and any other intruders. She can leap at least 2 feet off the ground like a vertical takeoff aircraft ... tooo funny!
Sissy was an owner surrender due to an impending move. She came to us starved for attention and food ... and badly in need of a dental. AADR has taken care of her dental, put some healthy weight on her, and is addressing her socialization needs. The family that adopts Sissy will have a cutie (who when not hunting and protecting the yard) wants to be right next to you on the sofa or in bed. She loves a warm lap! Sissy does need work with meeting strangers. She will get very vocal ... most likely wanting to scare them away.
